Collinsville, IL to Branson, MO – 4/23/2017

April 23, 2017

Mike here, apparently I have given Pretty Woman a day off, though I can’t for the life of me recall such an act.  At any rate, just me and that means mostly just pictures.  Sorry.  Today we traveled from Collinsville, Illinois to Branson, Missouri and checked into our home for the next week.  (We stayed in Colliersville, Indiana because it was about the half-way point.)We really like and appreciate having a kitchen, refrigerator, clothes washer and dryer, two bathrooms and four TV’s.  I am virtually guaranteed not to have to watch, “Say Yes to the Dress!”

Stayed here, had White Castle last night. That will do us for the rest of our lives.
At first we did not know what that hoop thing was in the distance just over the hill, then we remembered we are close to St. Louis….The Arch!
And the skyline.
We had a good time last we were here.
Bridges.
We remembered going up to the top.
Another state line.

We wondered at the fate of the round building that had been condemned last time we were here.
Busch Stadium.
Sunday drive for the cool kids…Super Sport.
Studebaker, I think.
Convertible, not sure, Caprice?
We remember Eisenhower and look forward to his presidential library.
We think the most inappropriately named place we have seen in all our travels.
Edie loves the exposed rock in this part of the country.
We almost stopped, it is certainly blog worthy. We just don’t want to reward the grossness of it all.
Gotta feel for the stuck travelers and rejoice in our freedom of movement.
Pretty woman is collecting photoraphs of these type signs.
Inspiration Tower.
The Ferris Wheel is new since we were here last.
On Stormy Point Road headed to our resort.
Gate house. Took a while. The security person told us that the car was an owner here, did not have a reservation but wanted to drive some friends through the grounds. He denied him because the rule is only registered owners are allowed in. Said the owner was very upset.
Patrol car. Looking around for Rockford.
Nice fountain at the entrance.
Our little home for a week. Feels like a community.
Another museum piece.
Mermaid weather vane.
Dolphin weather vane.
Our home.
The red one was the one Pretty Woman wanted.
Nice full kitchen.
Seating at the bar and a table for 6 just beyond.
Comfortable living room. My favorite kind of fireplace, gas with a remote control.
A little veranda out the door.
Master bedroom.
Master bath.
Nice little closet.
TV and chest of drawers.
We did get cookies at check in.
Nice bay window.
Upstairs is nice.
Our veranda has two rockers, a table and an electric grill.
Lots of different weather vanes on the nearby roofs looking out from the veranda.  Sail boat vane.
Whale vane.
Electric grill.
Easy to fall asleep here.
Upstairs.
Queen bed in 2nd bedroom.
King bed in third bedroom.
Shower, no tub, upstairs.
Edie loves all the little nautical touches.
Interesting open cabinet for the dishes.
Robes, big thick ones, we always like that.
Fun lamp.

Edie’s favorite. She loves having a clothes washer and dryer.
Bathroom extras.
I’ve been looking for some extra makeup.
Jetted tub with great smelling soap.

We came in, crashed and burned, slept like dead pigs (Chinese term).  We were physically tired and psychologically tired of hotels.  That was our day, hope yours was great.
