Superbowl Sunday! New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons

I wanted the Falcons to win because they were the underdogs and had never been to the Superbowl before. They worked hard but lost to the Patriots in overtime. Bummer but such a good game.

We slept in more than normal due to the grey and overcast conditions. Really quite ugly out with a nice drizzle.

We didn’t do anything until around 2:30 PM, when we walked over to Zig Zag Pizza and got two salads and a small pizza to take back to our room to watch the game. We also got a couple bags of popcorn that was being offered (complimentary) downstairs in the lobby. Nothing like football and popcorn.

Once we went upstairs and dropped off our pizza and salads, we went back down to the Superbowl Party they were having near the lobby. There was quite the line out the door and absolutely no seating for anyone else. Pretty good stuff (complimentary) – pizza bites, popcorn, nachos, chicken wings, and water or coke cola products, and cookies for dessert. The person managing the party said every year is different and he never knows how many to expect. This year was a great turnout.

We went back upstairs with our goodies and pigged out, watched the game, and then tried to chill out after all the excitement of the game.

We had hoped my friend’s daughter and her boys would come by to visit and swim, but they’re really busy and we hope to see them again sometime soon.
