Isla Mujeres to Cancun – 1/27/2017

January 27, 2017 (Friday)

Today was check out from the beautiful Isla Mujeres Worldmark. Really enjoyed it and plan on coming back and spending more time. We loaded everything up into the golf cart and headed down towards the ferry terminal. The kids dropped us off and had us order some breakfast for everyone while they turned in the golf cart. We found a cute little thatched roof indoor/outdoor cafe and ordered some vegan and non-vegan food for everyone. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast before we walked down to the terminal and got on the ferry to Cancun.

Goodbye Isla.
A nice restaurant near the ferry terminal.
Fun under glass display in the center of our table.
Great plate of fruit.
I enjoyed pancakes.

Aaron and Arla had decided they wanted to do their own thing in Cancun, while Michael and I did ours at the Hotel Kin Mayab. They booked a two bedroom two bathroom condo in a lovely area near their favorite restaurant, Vegan Planet. Our hotel was more downtown. Once we reached the ferry terminal in Cancun (about a twenty minute ride or so), they took the bus to their location and we took a taxi (about 100 pesos).

Our Ultramar.
We sat on the top.
Didn’t really need more sun.
Back in Cancun.
I was really liking these little trucks.

Once we got to the hotel, we were able to check in right away, even though we were pretty early (around noon). We put all our stuff into the room and then walked around. Michael found a Subway and got a sandwich. We are really close to the ADO bus station and looked into taking a bus to Chichen Itza or Merida. We also talked to a tour guy near our hotel who said he could get us an all day tour to Chichen Itza, one of the cenotes, lunch, and some other things for $25 US for a 12 hour tour. We told him we would think about it.

The interior was nice in a 1960’s sort of way.
A full and a twin bed.
A vanity separates the toilet from the shower.

Hotel pool.
Traffic circle landmark in front of the hotel.

We ended up having an early dinner at the hotel restaurant. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
