Indio, California – 10/11/2016

October 11, 2016 (Tuesday)

Slept in, did nothing for awhile, then I decided I wanted a “break” from Michael. Since he doesn’t like to go shopping, and I do, I went and did a few things while he stayed home and did his thing. I ended up driving about ten or so miles down to a travel store. I was looking for a universal adapter for our phones and computer when we go to China (and then on to Cancun in January). The travel store had a couple to choose from but they were a bit pricey so the search was on.

I went to Ross Dress for Less (got a couple swim suit cover ups), Staples, and then a TJMaxx, which had an adapter and a waterproof/float phone case where you can still take pictures. Thought it might be fun for the cenotes adventure in Cancun in January. I’m still going to put my phone in a zip lock and then into the waterproof case (just in case). I also went to Target and got a birthday card for Uncle Claude (88 years young!) and some food Michael had requested.

It is just so lovely here, in the mid 90’s. I really enjoy the dry heat.

When I got back, Michael had been working on a few things. We really didn’t do much more, except he took a little walk when it cooled down (around 6:30 PM). I was tempted to go to the lazy river but decided tomorrow would be better for me. Well, Michael’s “little walk” turned into a major walk in that he got lost. I knew something was up when it got dark and he still wasn’t home. I finally broke down and called him and he fessed up with what was happening. He was really tired and had a big blister and wanted me to come find him. He gave me the name of the street but when I entered it in the car GPS, and also my phone, it was such a new street, nothing turned up. Come to find out he was in a gated community and I couldn’t get into it. I tried following a car in but the gate came down too quick.

I knew basically where I was the whole time. I was just shy on a few details.

I left the golf course and resort behind as the sun set.

I was looking for a good path off the berm and ended up quite a ways aways from the resort.

I thought I was locked out of a gated community and couldn't get through the gate, so I walked about 2 miles out of my way trying to get around it. Turns out I was locked in the gated community. I finally found a pedestrian gate that let me right out in front of the resort.

He had to walk home and his feet hurt. Poor guy.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
