Show Low Bluff Trail – 10/4/2016

October 4, 2016 (Tuesday)

Woke up to beautiful blue skies, hardly any wind, and warm weather. Gorgeous day. We did our usual, coffee, breakfast, lazed around for awhile then headed out around 11:30 AM. First stop, Show Low Bluff Trail. It was a nice walk through trees with lots of rocks to step over and grasshoppers to avoid. As you started the walk there were some posters to read that were aimed at kids. Really neat. Michael and I decided our favorite hike here so far was the Rim Trail which we did yesterday. Today’s hike was about 1-1/2 miles, very easy and nice.

Saw a wreak on the way. Driving remains the most dangerous thing we do.

Next we headed to CVS to get our flu shots and tetanus shots. We wanted to make sure they were in full effect when we get to China later this month. We finished all the paperwork necessary to get the shots filled through our insurance so there would be no out of pocket for us. While we were waiting, the pharmacy tech was having people waiting to come up to the counter and fill out paperwork. He called the name “Shirley,” and the lady next to me looked at me and asked if I was Shirley. I said no and she just sat there. ( I should mention they were in their late 80’s.) A little later he called the name again and she said she was Shirley. Michael and I looked at each other and couldn’t help but laugh. What we have to look forward to (or maybe already there).

We got our shots, which didn’t hurt much, and then left CVS. We were hungry and decided to go back to Darbi’s as we enjoyed it so much yesterday. We got there right before they closed and got a nice inside table. I ordered beef stroganoff and Michael ordered a salad. I was so disappointed in the beef stroganoff because it was so rich and thick. I only ate a little bit of it and boxed it up to try to thin the sauce out a little and have for dinner. (Haven’t done it yet as I write this.) I was so looking forward to it and still have hopes for the kind we like.

My salad. It was excellent. We ordered some curly fries, ended up taking most home and then threw them away as we left early the next morning.

We are now back home. Michael and I went over a tentative schedule for our travels in the Spring to the Northeast and Canada. Trying to work it out a little before we make reservations. I also did some laundry and explored around the resort while Michael took a little nap. He said he needed one because he had “surgery” today (his shots).

Anyway, we are now waiting for the VP debates to start, and then NCIS. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
