Holly Lake Ranch, TX – 9/19/2016

September 19, 2016 (Monday)

Lazy day.  Slept in way late (felt good).  Michael made oatmeal and coffee with some fruit.  We really didn’t do anything for awhile then decided to go for a ride around the resort.  It’s a huge area with some resort and lots of private homes.  We saw a beach type volleyball area, tennis courts, and a basketball court, along with miniature golf, a real golf course, and the pools.  There are huge homes and more modest homes, all lovely and in a forest type setting.  You can get lost driving around the resort as there seems to be no main route.  We finally managed to find our way out of the maze and over to the other side of the resort.

There is a man-made lake here and a nice golf course.

Once on the other side of the resort, we decided to go on a hike (only in the mid-90’s) to see some Texas waterfalls.  It’s not true that everything is bigger in Texas  – the waterfalls we saw were very small, but lovely.  The walk to the first one was just a short distance off the road, and the second one was a bit larger and a little further away.  We were pretty drenched in sweat and headed back to the air-conditioned car and to our air-conditioned home.

Got back home and worked on the blog (at least all that we could do without internet).  That was our day.  Hope yours was great!
