Rathdrum, Idaho – 8/9/2016

August 9, 2016 (Tuesday)

Rainy, grey day. Kinda depressing. Day three of rain. Feels almost like Christmas time but not quite cold enough.

Our AirBnB hosts (Aaron and Violet) were going to make us breakfast (how nice is that) but we told them not to bother as we were going to sleep in and laze around until it was time to get moving. Around 9:30 AM, we left and went to a nearby McDonald’s for our favorite breakfast. After that we drove a few miles to nephew Dave’s studio, called “Empower” studio. He was voted the best personal trainer in the area last year. He loves his job and is very dedicated to helping people. It’s a great place to work out and has beautiful views. So happy he’s doing what he loves.

After we left from our short visit, we went the back way into Spokane and stopped at a marijuana place. Marijuana is legal in Washington state and our son had asked us to look for some CBD oil he wanted which is legal but he can’t seem to get in California. We stopped and talked to a nice young woman who was very knowledgeable. She gave us her number to give to Aaron to make arrangements and find out more information.

We left there and were driving to a Dollar Tree Store when we saw the Airstream dealer that we wanted to look at. We love the smallest Airstream trailer and are thinking we would want one in the back yard of the Prunedale place for us (Michael and I) to know we had a place and our things were in it. The Airstream doesn’t have a history of leaking or anything like that, so we knew the quality was good. What we didn’t appreciate was the price. $40,000 for the smallest trailer; $60,000 for one that is comfortable. We really need to talk to see if that is something we want to pay that much for, or have a tiny house built in the back yard.

Really nice inside and out.

We drove to the Dollar Tree (near a Walmart) and got a few things. What worked out nicely was there was a laundromat right next door, so we did our laundry. Took awhile but we got it all done. I really miss my wonderful new washer and dryer in Prunedale.

Needed just a few things for a buck.

We debated if we wanted to go see a movie and opted to go to Cracker Barrel for lunch instead. We found it and were surprised because this has been the only one that is a little different from all the others we have been in. Not much difference but still different. We both got the meatloaf lunch special, which came with mashed potatoes, gravy, and a side of choice. I chose pinto beans and Michael chose turnip greens. We also got a peach cobbler to split. All I can say is – YUMMY! Love Cracker Barrel. I did a little shopping at the end but didn’t see anything that totally wowed me except for a flamingo welcome sign, but it wouldn’t fit well in the Prius.

We found it, comfort food central!

We got back to our AirBnB home and heard from Danielle. She invited us to their home for dinner tonight. We got a little nap in and then left to go to the store to get a little something to bring for them. We got to their home and she had made steak, salmon, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and salad. Everything was delicious. Nice to sit and visit and enjoy the kids in their environment. Such a lovely family. Gonna miss them. Dave didn’t get home until around 7:30 PM or so, but had a nice visit with the kids and Danielle until he got home.

Hated to say goodbye but had to. Hope to get together again in November at Disneyland. Would love that, especially with the kids. How fun would that be!!! Anyway, that was our day. Hope yours was great!
