Royal B.C. Museum – 8/1/2016

August 1, 2016 (Monday)

Happy BC Day Canada!

Woke up to wind and cloudy skies. Looks like a storm wants to come to the island.

Larry and Renee made a wonderful breakfast and then we just lazed around for awhile. About noon we decided was a good time to get going. Larry, Renee and Michael went to the Royal BC Museum to check out the IMAX theater and the mastodon exhibit. I opted to stay “home” for my alone time. I also went to the nearby Thrifty Store to get a few things for dinner (as it is my turn to fix something). I was hoping to get some cash but it didn’t happen.

After getting back from the store, I putzed around and cut some vegetables for dinner tonight (pasta with tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and chicken). I also did a couple loads of laundry. Still can’t figure out how we can go through so many clothes. Seems like if we’re on the road or at home, there’s always a ton of laundry that needs doing.

The gang got home around 5 PM and told me about the museum:

About a month old, she fell into a very sandy river and drowned, was then pickled by bacteria and then became a part of the permafrost. All in very short order.

Mike here.  We left the museum and made our way to the IMAX theater and watched about an hour film in 3D.  It was totally educational and entertaining.  After the film we went back and traveled to the third floor of the museum.  We didn’t even come close to seeing half of it.  We saw an extensive section on the First Peoples.
