Santa Rosa, California – 9/23/2015

September 23, 2015 (Wednesday)

Slow morning. Enjoyed sleeping in, playing on the computer, and just relaxing. We left around 11:00 AM, not really knowing where we were going. We ended up at a little mall type thing in Santa Rosa for lunch. Michael wanted 5 Guys (Maureen had said their fries were the best). I went to a nearby Panda Express. We ate outside under an umbrella and enjoyed. Michael shared and Maureen was right, the fries are better than In N Out.

We left and went to the Charles M. Schulz Museum.  We had been wanting to go here for some time but it never worked out.  This place was pretty amazing. So glad we went.  Wonderful and informative museum.  It was fun and not overwhelming in size.  Found out the second wife is still very involved in the museum.  (Cost was $5.00 for senior entry.)

At the Schultz museum there was some police activity on the street. They had a drug dog going through a car.

We left there and drove around a little bit. Got to see a really steep hill Michael used to run up, an old condo complex that Michael and his first wife lived in, and an area of Santa Rosa where a friend lives that we want to visit next time we’re in town. (We didn’t want to just drop in on them unexpectedly.) After another “walk down memory lane” for Michael, we went to Howarth Park and took a long, lovely walk up to the dam and then back. Really enjoyed the beautiful fall colors, the lake, the ducks, the geese, and everything. So beautiful.

Lots more people at this park than at Annadel, which was why Michael preferred Annadel. The weather was very nice, not too hot or too cold.

We left and went back to Windsor, where we stopped to get a small something for dinner. We ended up at KFC/A&W. When we got back to our room we got into the hot tub and relaxed. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
