5/16/2015-end of July, 2015

Sorry we haven’t been blogging but we have been busy.  Haven’t been busy doing fun things, but busy with life.  We got back and pulled weeds, weed-whacked some of the property, chain sawed things that needed to be done, and just basically worked and worked on the wilderness project.  In the midst of this, Michael and I looked at each other and we both decided we were done with all the work and talked to a neighbor (a realtor).  She gave us an idea of what the place was worth (which was much more than we had thought).  We then talked to another neighbor (who had expressed a desire to buy our property for many years) and he made an offer to purchase it.  Pretty much a done deal and it will be an “as is” so we don’t have to haul off all our brush and weeds we’ve been working on, or do many of the usual required things before you can sell.  Our neighbor has to sell his condo in San Jose before he can actually get into the place but that will give us time to get all our things out of the mobile, studio, and the 40′ conex (that is full of things from our home, things of the kids’ and a whole lot of junk).

We’ve been spending a lot of time on line trying to decide where to move and buy another home.  We’re leaning towards Vancouver, Washington because of no state income tax and it’s so close to the Oregon border, where there is no sales tax.  We figured if we worked it right we could save almost 20%.  Going to leave for Oregon/Canada around the 15th or so of July and go check out homes/condos/etc. before we head up to the Victoria Symphony Splash.

I am leaving on Monday to go for a wine and dye with my sister.  We try to do it once a month if we’re in the area.  Not sure how we’re going to do it when we move.  She lives in Nevada, us in Prunedale, and we usually meet in the middle – either Sacramento area or Angels Camp, California.  We’ll have to figure out where the middle is between Vancouver, Washington and Nevada; or else just fly somewhere and meet.  We’ll figure it out.

So….you probably won’t be hearing from us until we get up to Canada.  Really looking forward to the Splash as it’s a pretty amazing thing, plus we get to see our Canadian friends Jan and Caron.  We will try to update if anything changes.  That’s been our time.  Hope yours has been great!
