Rapid City, South Dakota to Cheyenne, Wyoming – 4/7/2015
April 7, 2015 (Tuesday)
Got up and out of our room by 10:15 AM. We drove to the Denny’s Restaurant for breakfast. Michael got the Senior Fit Fare (again) but I splurged and got a piece of French toast with strawberries, eggs, and hash browns. We asked for the mild coffee but they didn’t have any. The server, Stacey, watered it down for us and it was pretty good. She was the same server we had yesterday and was so much fun.
We left Denny’s and drove across the street to get some gas before we left Rapid City, South Dakota. Before we left we headed downtown to see all the Presidential statues on the street corners. How fun they were. On a nice day it would be lovely to leisurely walk and explore each of them. Today was a little chilly so we did it in the car.
We left Rapid City, South Dakota and headed to Cheyenne, Wyoming – about a 325 mile ride. We stopped to go to the bathroom somewhere, and didn’t stop again until we got into Cheyenne. Saw lots of different landscapes – hills, almost grand canyon type areas, monument valley type mountains, miles of fields, sagebrush, etc. We also saw a lot of wild life. One animal I saw and not sure what it was but it had huge ears (maybe a mule deer?). Gonna have to explore animals of Wyoming to see what it could have been. It rained on us for about half an hour, which was good because it cleared off all the bug guts off the windshield.
We got into Cheyenne, Wyoming around 4:30 PM and stopped at a Chipotle for dinner. The hotel we are staying in was almost right across the street. At this hotel you register at a diner next door. Kinda weird but whatever. We are now in our room, which is very large and has a recliner for Michael.
Net was poor.
That was our day. Hope yours was great!
