Atlanta, Georgia to Grand Lake, Oklahoma – 2/28/2015
February 28, 2015 (Saturday)
Long, long day. Over 750 miles and I didn’t feel well. I think the re-entry blues. We filled up the car twice. We went through seven states – Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Don’t remember much except we did stop at a Logan’s Roadhouse in Conway for lunch. Once we got back on the road we wished we hadn’t stopped and wasted the time as we were going right into an ice storm. The last 200 miles or so were pretty bad. Not only was it dark, but the ice was getting worse and we were going off into tiny little back roads.
When we finally did get to the Afton, Oklahoma area, we stopped at a small little local market because we knew the weather was going to be bad and we wanted to have some food. Very pricey but we got a few things (soup, cereal, milk, orange juice). We got to the Worldmark and it was a lovely unit – two bedroom, fireplace, washer/dryer. Very recently remodeled. They are working on all the units and the workers live upstairs.
That was our day. Hope yours was great!
