NCL Jade sea day – 2/20/2015

FEBRUARY 20, 2015 (Friday)

Today was a day at sea. We got to sleep in a little and then went to the Moderno for lunch. Moderno is one of the “pay” restaurants and for some reason they opened it up, complimentary, for lunch. This way we can say we ate at the Moderno.

Sandwiches and soups at the Moderno. Very good with lots of meats, cheeses, breads and spreads.

The weather looked overcast and depressing. At 1:00 PM, we went to the art auction in the Alizar Restaurant. They had some interesting art work and I’m beginning to love Peter Max and his story about coming to America and after 911 he did a piece for every family of the fallen fire fighters, for free. He also did a lot of other good deeds. Just sounds like a really nice guy who does incredible art. While going into the art auction, we ran into Helga and Dennis. What fun they are and we’re so enjoying them. Gonna hate to say goodbye come Wednesday, but we’ll keep in touch, hopefully.

These two guys were the art handlers whipping works up and off to keep it all moving at a nice pace. When there were no bids we applauded the work and it felt like something happened.

At around 2:15 PM, Helga, Dennis, and Michael left the art auction to go to the international crew talent show. I told them I would meet up with them when the auction was over. It didn’t get over until after the talent show was over. Michael said it was a great show and that he had taken video, which he showed me later and it was hysterical. Loved the Norwegian Jade fountains, our favorite.  (Mike here.  I’ll upload the video when we get to a place with decent internet.)

After the show we went back to our room and rested.  Then we went to the third and final “Latitudes” cocktail party.  They are nice gatherings. This one, however, wasn’t quite as nice as they only had cheese and crackers (no deviled eggs).

Edie's well done that wasn't. She never sends them back, just does without.
