My friend Ellis. Looks jolly, nice, even fun; all deception. In this picture you see a cunning, ruthless, merciless, deceptive, possibly unscrupulous, and cold blooded chess player. First game, he creamed me. Second game he won, but he had to work for it. Third game I won, slow and steady beat him. Fourth game was mine, I was up a rook, knight and a pawn, just a matter of time. Then he made a move that strongly suggested, almost promised he'd trade queens with me straight across. I fell into his vicious, depraved trap and snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory. I felt like the Seattle Seahawks.
At Sea (Wednesday and Thursday)
Mike here. Gave Edie two days off, forgot, didn’t write anything myself and so have a few pictures to look at and try to remember. We needed some rest time after Turkey. At sea days are pretty pleasant. Sleep, eat, play, and repeat. Just a few pictures to recap some of our activities over the two days.
(I would like to note that Michael was very upset that Ellis won. He looked all over the ship to find Ellis and demand a rematch. I also suspect that Ellis let Michael win and regain his dignity.)
We had a dinner in the Alizar.
We ran into our Cruise Critic friends Maria and Allen. They set a record for walking. At every port they walked and walked. They were good at taking local transportation but were unafraid to hit the pavement and see all they could. (They also set a personal goal of not paying for a toilet in Europe. We had to pay several times.)
Our days were restful and prepared us for the visit to Napoli. Hope your days were great.
