Poinciana, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia – 1/31/2015

JANUARY 31, 2015 (Saturday)

Moving day. We were up and out the door by 8:45 AM. Our first stop was at a McDonald’s for our usual breakfast – egg white McMuffin and coffee. Really good. The drive today was from Poinciana, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia – about 450 miles. Michael started out driving until we got to Interstate 75 (about an hour). I took over and drove. We stopped for gas somewhere in Georgia (can’t remember the name of the town – $2.06 a gallon) and a snack. We stopped somewhere else a ways down the road for a potty break.

The GPS took us past Champions Gate. A luxury golf community resort just outside Orlando. Very nice looking.

The drive was long but quite lovely. There was quite a bit of traffic but it seemed to be moving along nicely. We got into Atlanta around 4:00 PM. We found where our hotel was and then went down the road a little ways to a Mexican restaurant to have linner. It was soooo good, but way too much food. Michael suffered from acid reflux, and I was stuffed and miserable. We got to our hotel and talked to the manager about the parking and the shuttle. He was so nice and we felt much more comfortable. The room is very large and has a couch, a king size bed, microwave, and small refrigerator. Lots of room, which we like. Very tiny bathroom but that’s okay.

Edie had a vegetarian plate that she didn't enjoy that much. We both agreed that I won this time. She almost always wins.
