Vacation Villages, Orlando, Florida – 1/5/2015
January 5, 2015 (Monday)
Mike here. We slept in again and it felt good. We lazed a bit and then got ready to go to the Vacation Villages sales presentation. We walked over the short distance to the Preview Center. We checked in and waited a very short time before we met our presenter, Tamara, a lovely woman that was most pleasant. We walked out, and after a conversation decided to take our car to the restaurant for lunch. We were promised an Italian lunch in the town of Celebration.
We walked over to our car and drove to a parking lot in Celebration. We walked about a short block to Cafe D’antonio. It was very nice inside and the food turned out to be excellent. After serving drinks, our water brought us piping hot bread that was soft and good on the inside and hard and crusty on the outside. Seasoned olive oil with the bread. Edie and I had penne pasta with chicken in a marinara sauce. It was delicate and tasty. Tamara had a 10 inch pizza that looked really good. After a leisurely lunch we headed back to Vacation Village.
We toured a side by side unit in tower 16. They were both one bedrooms with large tubs next to the bed, nice living and dining rooms. The only real difference was one unit had a stove and the other relied on a hot plate.
After the tour we went back to the sales center and the program was explained in detail. We decided not to buy. What we have is working very well for us and the developer prices are just so much more than resale. They did offer a foreclosed unit for just under $5,000. We still passed. After that we were sent to the gift counter, got our gift and on the way out Edie made an appointment for Voyages Travel Club. Good grief, we have to be there at 9 am.
We went back home to return several calls and were going to head out. We decided to take a nap instead. I made dinner, it was so so.
We will hit Costco tomorrow after the presentation. That was our day, hope yours was great.
