Spent most of the time on the computer – trying to remember and label and catch up on the blog. Had a friend of long standing over on the 23rd.
Derral showing up in his Jag convertible.San Quentin in the 80’s, Corcoran in the late 90’s and 15 years later, it was like no time had passed at all. One small glass of a delicious red was step two of two leading to a trip to gout-ville.
After one measly, tiny, little glass of a wonderful red wine, my gout was in bloom and off to urgent care we went on Christmas Eve.

Christmas eve at Derral’s beautiful home.Edie liked his wine refrigerator.Derral made a fantastic pasta dish. He heated some butter, browned minced garlic, added cream, Italian seasoning and a little olive oil. Cooked it a bit and it was a great sauce.
On Christmas, we talked to the kids and watched the sunset from the beach.

Grumpy prepares to kiss pretty woman.There was a cloud wall that we thought would deny us our sunset.It moved quickly out of the way. We saw we had a good hour before sunset. We went back to our cottage and put dinner on to simmer so we could return.The setting sun makes wonderful light for pictures.The fish must know it’s done for.I wonder if the fish is still alive and is amazed at the view.Edie had fish for dinner two nights later. She gave me a taste, it was excellent.
