I gave Edie a break and told her she did not have to go with me to Land o Lakes to meet Trevor and get the computer. This is the first time we have not been together in months. Trevor and I agreed to meet at a Starbucks; we met and the computer was as bad as it looked in the pictures.
At the Land O Lakes turn off, I have never seen panhandlers that work traffic in safety vests.All three corners were being actively worked by energetic panhandlers.

I bought it, brought it home, switched hard drives and couldn’t get the machine to recognize the new hard drive. I researched, called my son, tried so many things. Finally reinstalled the other hard drive and started struggling with Ubuntu. Good grief. I did like the touch screen though. On Monday, I called Trevor hoping he might know how to get the new hard drive recognized. He was working and texted me that he would call after he got off work. I kept playing with the maching and finally got it to boot up to the new hard drive. It is all easy when you know what you are doing and hellish when you don’t. “Computers, the only curse God didn’t visit on Job.” I robbed 4 gigabits of ram from my old computer, as well as the missing panel, and I had a pretty good running machine.
I took a 4 Gig RAM module from here and doubled the speed of the the new old machine.The hard drive from the other machine.The new Frankenstein, with touch screen.Good bye old friend.
Monday was overall a pretty good day. Edie did laundry, we went to a meet and greet, met some nice people and got some donuts for breakfast. At the meet and greet we found out that there is an excellent art museum nearby, gifted by John and Mable Ringling (of circus fame). We went to it because it is free on Mondays. It was excellent, huge, grand and had some very wonderful works of art inside.

In the early 1900’s John Ringling envisioned Sarasota as the cultural center of Florida.Getting close.Next door to the Ringling Museum and Mansion.Entrance.Free every Monday.Beautiful grounds with water features and many statues.Pretty woman following me to the museum.She found a side garden and declared she wanted one just like it when we get back home.It was a lovely garden. She made similar declarations at the Biltmore estate, Hearst Castle, Butchart Gardens, and Disneyland.Love the grass on the right.Front of the museum.

Everywhere there is excellent and labor intensive detail.
The scale is very large.

The museum consists of two large and long wings.
It goes and goes and goes on.
The detail of the carving was rich.
Very old, and I could have touched it.Some of the prominent work was on loan.
A side exhibit was on display.Most of it was various forms of nudes.I took several pictures before a docent advised me that photography was not allowed in this area.A huge amount of statues in the courtyard.A bronze casting of Michelangelo’s David.Beautiful flooring in the courtyard.Two beauties, and a nice floor.Both wings were lined with statues on the tops.
We were told that they were allowed to make a plaster cast of the original David to create this exact duplicate in bronze.The big hands.
Took me awhile but I finally realized I was in a wing that allowed non-flash photography.
Several displays show mantles, wall panels and decorative glass.
Grand.
We spent a couple hours there and were hungry. We headed out.Some very big coy in the pond.Turtles too.We decided on pizza.I had a 99 cent beer. Step one of two to a trip in gout-ville.We ordered garlic bread, got cheese bread. It was good.Half pepperoni, half veggie. I ate only the veggie.
It was a Mobil.Nice seahorse.Flamingo.The Marietta Museum of Art & Whimsy.We are on our way home and will have to save this one for another day.
I got to work on catching up on posting blogs and have been at it since. That was our day, hope yours was great.
