MSC Divina; Day 2 at Sea – 12/14/2014
DECEMBER 14, 2014 (Sunday)
Slept really well. Nothing like the ocean to lull you to sleep. When we did wake up, it was to having our breakfast delivered to our room. The morning selection isn’t all that great but we got our coffee so we were happy. We also got a muffin and yogurt.
We left to explore the ship around 11:00 AM. We walked as far forward as we could and discovered the rest of it is for a private club – The Yacht Club. We got to see all the pools, the basketball court, the casino, the huge Pantheon Theater, and many of the bar/lounge areas. We looked at watches and other items they had for sale on the pool deck area.
At around 12:30 PM, we headed to The Black Crab Restaurant to have lunch. We were seated at a table with two other couples – both couples were from Florida but one couple didn’t speak English that well as they were originally from Cuba. The other couple (Cindy and John) were a lot of fun and have cruised but love to do bus tours. Really enjoyed our time visiting and eating. Michael got a salad for an appetizer, and then a veggie burger with fries. I got a Greek something with spinach inside thing, and then a steak sandwich. Michael ordered fruit for dessert and I got a New York style cheesecake with berries. I ate just a few bites. Everything was really good.
We left and went back to our room for awhile. Even managed to fall asleep again. Then off we went to go to a Cruise Critic get together. It was on the 6th floor at the Silver Lounge. The young woman who did the presentation was the same one as yesterday in the Black and White Lounge. Very nice and very informative. It was mostly a gripe session for most people about what was wrong with the ship. She did her best to explain things. She also told us that the ship was giving away free drinks at 5:00 PM until 5:45 PM. When the little get together was over we stayed and had a couple of the free drinks. Michael and I had a rum something with a cherry in it, then I had a glass of champagne. With the second glass in hand, we wandered over to where the beautiful stairway is and listened to some music being played by three lovely and talented young ladies – one on piano, one on violin, and one on bass. It was fun watching the people come into the lobby to have their pictures taken for formal night. Some beautiful gowns.
We went to the Pantheon Theater a little early in order to get a good seat. I’m glad we did because it got really crowded and it’s a huge theater. The show tonight was “Wonderland,” and consisted of some weird things/costumes, some acrobatics, some singing, and some dancing. I enjoyed everything but the singing because of the accents. Really liked all the spectacular acrobatic feats.
We got back to our room around 8:00 PM and ordered room service. We got a cheese plate and a fruit plate. Perfect amount for the two of us and it was really good. Could not believe how quickly it arrived after we ordered – within ten minutes.
That has been our day. Hope yours has been great!
