Near New Orleans, Louisiana – 11/29/2014
NOVEMBER 29, 2014 (Saturday)
Hard night. Not only are we in a small room, but the room next to us had someone who sounded like they were jumping up and down – for hours. Pretty miserable. We tried calling down to the front desk and they called up to the suspected room, but nothing. On top of that there were drunks being loud and obnoxious at around 3:30 AM. Not a whole lot of sleep for me. Michael snored through it.
We got up and ate breakfast downstairs. They have a small selection of cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels, muffins, one waffle maker, juices, coffee, and that’s about it. It was so crowded in the breakfast room that we shared a table with a lovely couple from Colorado. What fun and how informative they were. They have us wanting to go see the WWII Museum in New Orleans. They’re traveling to different museums with their son. Had a great time talking to them. They go by George and “the crazy woman,” though she seemed perfectly sane to us.
We left the Microtel Inn and Suites and went to the Dollar Tree to get a bag for my sister’s birthday present we had purchased in Alamogordo a few days ago. Today is her birthday and we’re so glad we’re able to see her on her special day. Her youngest granddaughter made her a special cake with purple sprinkles on it and told us about it yesterday.
After the Dollar Tree we headed straight to Tiffany’s house. The rest of the day was spent visiting and eating. Tiffany BBQ’d hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausage. The other kids did the slicing of onions, tomatoes, and pretty much did everything else while we visited. Lovely, relaxing day.
That was our day. Hope yours was great!
