Rancho Cordova, to Santa Clara, to Prunedale, California – 11/17/2014

NOVEMBER 17, 2014 (Monday)

We both slept pretty well but got up early. I think we were a little excited to see the kids today and wanted to get going. Before we left we turned on the television to hear the news. So funny because the weather person said, “We are frigid this morning! It is 42 degrees!”. After being -2 two mornings ago, and then 19 just yesterday, we laughed. Michael opened the window, stuck his hand out and declared that it felt wonderful.

We left around 8:30 AM and headed down Sunrise Boulevard to find a car wash, one that would wash underneath the car. We found one on Sunrise. Was funny because they had these beautiful chickens (roosters?) running around the place. The Prius cleaned up really nice.

We left there and went to the nearby McDonald’s for breakfast (the usual). We ate in the car and then left for the two hour drive to Santa Clara. Traffic was pretty bad for awhile but then opened up after we got onto Interstate 80 well outside Sacramento. We got into Fremont and had to stop for a potty break and gas. Aaron called while we were getting the gas and wanted to know where we were. We got to Aaron and Arla’s apartment complex around noon.

They both look wonderful – and our grandpuppies are still the cutest. So good to see them and know they’re doing well. We visited and caught up on everything and then went out for some lunch at the nearby Sweet Tomatoes. After lunch we went back to Aaron and Arla’s and visited until it was time for Aaron to go to work. He rides his bike to work and had to leave around 3:30 PM. We left about the same time. He said he’ll come down to visit us tomorrow. I hope so. He’s so fun and funny.

We drove down to Prunedale (about an hour from Santa Clara). The traffic was pretty bad. I was so grateful Michael was driving. I was finally able to get some good sleep while he drove in the bumper to bumper stuff. We got to our place around 5:00 PM. We noticed right away that the fence had been put in while we were gone. It looks good. We’re hopeful it keeps the neighbor’s dogs out of our yard.

While we were on the porch, just vegging and enjoying, our neighbor, Belinda, came by and we got a nice visit in with her. She caught us up on things that had been happening here. We also got to see our other grandpuppy, Beans. Beans hasn’t been feeling very well but seemed fine (except for his gas – horrible). Good to see everyone. The temperature was around 70 degrees. Nice. Lex has the place looking great. We are sitting around waiting for her to get home. We’re staying in the studio and she left flowers and wine for us. How nice is that? So sweet.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
