Pretty lazy day but we thought we should go run a few errands. We opted not to try to go to Carmel Beach (to see the whales) on a weekend. The traffic is horrible and we try to avoid the Monterey Peninsula on weekends, if at all possible.

We headed to Costco, which is bad enough on the weekend. Even worse, we went to the Costco in Salinas. It actually wasn’t as bad today. Got through quickly. After that we went to Home Depot to look at blinds for the big patio door. We’re still undecided what we want to put on them, but I’m sure we’ll figure it out.

We got home and I made a huge salad for dinner, at Michael’s request. We had also gotten a call from our son (who lives in Santa Clara) that he was coming to spend the night with a friend of his from Germany. He wanted to show his friend (Alex) the Big Sur area that Aaron knows so well. They wanted to spend the night and get up early and go explore/hike the Big Sur coast.

Aaron and Alex showed up around 10:00 PM. What a nice young man. He’s from near the Frankfort area and is here for six months on a job internship in Silicon Valley. Glad we got to meet him. We stayed up way too late talking. Aaron left Alex with us (to get to sleep) while he went out to visit a friend who had called and wanted to see him.
