Saltair, Canada to Keizer, Oregon – 8/9/2014

AUGUST 9, 2014 (Saturday)

Got up around 9:00 AM. Jan and Caron had started making breakfast – turkey bacon, eggs, toast, and a wonderful Canadian jam. Everything (once again) was excellent. Too much food – too little time.

We had to leave to catch the ferry. The drive was a little over an hour, not too much traffic or construction. We made it to the ferry around noon and just walked around for a while. Fun. There was a very vocal protest going on at the lawn in front of the parliament building. Palestine and Israeli supporters were going at it. Looked like it was going to get ugly so we left. Hope everything was okay.

The ferry left just a little late but not too bad. We got into Port Angeles, Washington around 5:00 PM. We stopped and did a drive-thru dinner at the local Wendy’s and kept on driving. The drive to Salem, Oregon was around 250 miles and took about five hours. Very lovely drive. We got into Johnny’s about ten o’clock – exhausted.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
