Prunedale, California to Weed, California 5/28/2014

MAY 28, 2014 (Wednesday)

Poor night’s sleep. We had some people in the studio who were being very “active” and it felt like a 4.0 earthquake. We’re going to have to work on making sure the mobile is more secure.   (We are now calling them the rabbits.)

We got up early and packed for our trip. We left to go into Salinas around 10:00 AM. Michael had a doctor’s appointment with his cardiologist, Dr. Gerber. Michael wanted me to meet him so I went inside. The wait was very short and Dr. Gerber was just so very nice. He checked Michael out and we visited. Saw where Michael really enjoyed him.

Dr Richard Gerber, excellent cardiologist, practices state of the art, and a joy to know.

Great guy to go to if you need medical help.
Great guy!

We stopped for lunch before we headed back to Prunedale. We had forgotten the moonshine that we had picked up for Darrin so it was a good thing we had stopped for lunch. We got a quick hi and bye with Lexi, picked up the stuff we had forgotten, and got on the road. We were on the road by 1:00 PM. I was asleep by 1:30 PM. Michael drove for several hours and then I took over in Williams when we stopped for gas. (Michael got a good nap in too.) The trip to Oregon usually takes about twelve hours and is about 700 miles.

Outback salad, very delicious.

We each had a steak, the condemned man's last meal. Dr Gerber has suggest weight loss, Edie has embraced the idea. The food portion of my trip is ruined!

We were down to two squares on our fuel gauge, love the Prius.

Castle Craig is always fun to look upon.

The peaks always look different somehow, as if someone changed them since I was here last.

We are now in our Priceline room (around $75.00 with taxes) in Weed. As we were turning the corner, there was a group of young people on the corner near their old van. They were holding up a sign saying they were selling weed. Thought it quite bold of them. Anyway, the room is nice and Michael was able to plug in the Prius.
