MAY 5, 2015 (Monday)

Cleaned and putzed. Michael had taken the truck and drove up to Cupertino to get a vinyl fence off Craigslist. He had to dismantle it but the price was right ($50.00 for about 40′ of nice vinyl fence and gate). I was surprised at how quickly he did it and was home (around 3:00 PM).

Before, with a nice gate.

Before, the rest of the fence.

At about 5:00 PM we drove into town to see about leasing a Prius V. Today was the last day for their Zero incentives (0 down, 0 interest, 0 first month payment, and 0 maintenance for two years). We checked into it, sat in the Prius V, checked out the numbers, and just didn’t feel comfortable with driving no more than 15,000 miles in a year. We can do that in three months or less when we’re on the road. We wanted to wait to get another vehicle but…the deal was too good to pass up, we felt.

The poor salesman, Peter – we ran him ragged. We then looked at a regular Prius. Michael sat in it and he was able to get in and out easily, just like the Prius V. We were shocked that they had changed it and he was able to get in and out so easily. Shocked and glad. We then got prices and information on the Prius. While we were looking, we saw a Prius plug-in. The incentives on the plug-in were so good that we went for it and bought it. It’s a lovely blizzard pearl (white) color. It says it gets 95 miles per gallon (love it). It charges in three hours (we’ll see), and you can start it up automatically from a short distance. It’s really technically advanced (much more so than our old 2007 Prius, and we called that one, “the shuttle craft”). My brain went into overload and I was afraid to touch anything on the ride home.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
