Prunedale and Marina, California – April 14 to 21, 2014

APRIL 14-21, 2014

Really another lost week of getting things for the mobile home and/or studio. We had some lovely people in the studio for a few days so we had to be very quiet. We’re working on trying to figure out how to get more privacy/quiet. We don’t hear much from the studio but I know they can hear our footsteps (from when we stayed in the studio before). We bought some of those really thick kitchen mats that we hope will help. We’ll see.

We got area rugs, a really nice sleeper sofa, coffee table, dresser, beds for both bedrooms, a table, and a microwave cart. We’ve had to travel from Scotts Valley to Monterey to get some of the items but it’s fun. The best one was the sofa. It was in Sunnyvale and we told Aaron and Arla we’d be up to see them and get the sofa. Aaron and Arla volunteered to get it and come down to see us. Michael jumped on it and didn’t bother to tell them how heavy it was, or that it was a sleeper sofa, or that it was on the second floor and they had to carry it down a flight of stairs. We all got a good laugh out of it when they brought it to us. Good thing they’re young. I’m sure Aaron is plotting his revenge for the future.

We are concentrating on cleaning up the mobile and getting it furnished. We do have plans to see, go and do – soon. We’ve been to Phil’s Fish Market a couple of times (love that place) for comfort food, visited with neighbors and friends. Our long time friend, Joan, came out to see us one day, Bill (our property manager) visited one day, and Greg (former renter of the mobile home) came by. So good to see everyone.

On April 21, I went to my computer and looked to see when we were supposed to check into the Worldmark Marina Dunes. I was sure we were checking in on Tuesday and checking out Thursday. Good thing I looked because we were due to check in today. By this time it was 6:00 PM so we hurriedly stuffed things into a suitcase and left.

Marina Dunes resort is really hard to get into. When I booked it about a week or so ago, there were four nights available. I booked two but changed it so I was a little confused (as usual). It’s only about a twenty minute drive from our house. Check in was quick and easy.

The room is beautiful and with this room we got a nice peek of the ocean. Love having the fireplace and washer/dryer. Lexi opted to stay home as she has work in the morning.

That’s been our week. Hope yours was great!
