Prunedale, California 4/8-4/13/2014

APRIL 8-13, 2014

It’s been a lost week for us. We’ve done our taxes, Aaron and Arla’s taxes, and Lexi’s taxes. That took some doing. Set up some beds, cleaned and cleaned.  Got some chairs together.  We spent two days up at Aaron and Arla’s, the second night because of car trouble with the truck. We were going to swap the Prius for their pickup but they hadn’t used the pickup in so long, the battery had died. Tires were low.  We spent the second night so we could get a good charge on the battery before we took off back to Prunedale. Also, we got to have dinner with Arla’s mom and dad, which was nice.

We have always liked the inner courtyard of their apartment complex. Redwoods and a stream have given it such a safe feeling.

The first night we ended up at a New York Pizza place. Nice place, but not like we had not so long ago in NY.

Nicest guy running it, he gave us a free order of garlic knots, most tasty.

The second night we ate at Sweet Tomatoes. A nice veggie focused buffet.

On our way home from Santa Clara on Saturday, we hit up several yard sales and got some things for the mobile home (some end tables, mirror, pots and pans, etc.). We’ve been to Costco several times for sheets, blankets, pillows, mattress, food, televisions, among other things (tires).

We left the freeway in Morgan Hill and went looking for yard sales.

Michael and Lexi are glad to be home. Me, not so much. I’d much rather be seeing and experiencing new things. I’ve been here, done that. I must say it is beautiful here tho. We’re very lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

Today we got to visit with Michael’s sister, Ellen, and Brother-in-law, Brad. They are driving down to Palm Springs to spend some time with brother Paul and his wife, JoDee. So good to see  them. They were worried they wouldn’t get to make the trip because of a medical issue Brad was having. Dr. cleared him to go and they were on it. We took them to Sarita’s for dinner because we still don’t have all the dishes and things we need to cook a decent meal. Also, Aaron and Arla came down to see their Uncle Brad and Aunt Ellen. Twice in one week. A record. They’re going to go out to eat somewhere and we’re going to get to watch our grandpuppies. Should be fun.

Arla, so hard working and what a great partner for the boy.

Guess I am going to have to stop calling him, "the boy" one of these days soon.
