MARCH 30, 2014 (Sunday)

Slept so good in the bed. The pillows are amazing and the blankets are light and warm. Got to sleep in. and we didn’t have to move.  Loved it.

Didn’t really do much, just lazed and hung out until around 3:00 PM. We are meeting Jim and Anna downtown at the Golden Nugget at 5:00 PM.  Jim and Anna had heard about the seafood buffet and wanted to meet us for dinner there.  We wanted to go early to let Lexi see Fremont Street and explore it a little. We got there around 3:30 PM and just walked around. So many strange people walking around – half naked guys in g-strings, half naked women, Elvis, Dr. Spock, transformers, Kiss, Mr. T, and many others. While we were walking through a casino, Lexi saw a gambling machine that had advertising with the Walking Dead and wanted to gamble. She managed to lose almost $5.00 very quickly.

We went to the buffet upstairs at the Golden Nugget and waited for awhile for Jim and Anna. Lexi and I got really hungry so we went in and had a small plate and waited for them to arrive. Michael waited out in the hall for them. When they did arrive we all sat around and ate, talked, and visited. What fun. Sure do love visiting with family. Jim is such a character and is always managing to get a good joke in on Lexi.

After dinner we walked out to the Fremont Street experience to wait for the light show. It was around 7:15 PM. There was mostly advertising going on up on the canopy so we just hung out and people watched. We were laughing at some of the people who were dressed up (Elvis and a couple others) who would get downright ugly if someone tried to take their picture without paying first. Made me want to follow them with signs saying how mean they were. While we were waiting we also got to listen to a fantastic sax player. Wonderful.

The light show started at 8:00 PM. They turned out most of the lights on the casinos and just had the canopy flashing to the music. Was quite good. We heard they did the light show every hour. Nice. After that Jim and Anna were tired. They had been up since around 3:00 AM this morning. We gave them a ride to their hotel and then came back to our home.
