Amarillo, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico 3/20/2014

MARCH 20, 2014 (Thursday)

Michael and Lexi got up early so they could go have breakfast. Michael was kind enough to bring me a little something. When they came back into the room, he said after he brought me my plate, an employee came out with a sign that said not to take food to rooms. Glad they waited.  (Mike here, OMG, she believed me, the sign was there all the time, hehe)

We were on the road by 10:00 AM. Sky was a little overcast but cleared up within a couple of hours. The drive today was from Amarillo, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico – about 300 miles. It took about five hours. We stopped once for gas ($3.30) and once for a potty break. We also drove into mountain time so the clock went back an hour. That means we’re closer to California!

When we got into Albuquerque, we saw where our “home” for three nights was, but it was too early to check in. We decided to go somewhere and have linner (lunch/dinner). We found a Mexican restaurant that had a lot of vehicles in its parking lot (usually a good sign). Had the most fun server we’ve had in a long time. She was a total hoot. (I really think she was hitting on Michael. Told us how she was single, kept touching him, too funny.) The food was really good, but still the Mexican food is different in some respects.

After eating, we drove a little ways and went to a Walgreens to get some laundry soap and a few little items. We are now back “home.” That was our day. Hope yours was great!
