Plantation Resort, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 1/25/2014
JANUARY 25, 2014 (Saturday)
Moving day. Hated to leave. So nice and so comfortable at our “home” at Holiday Inn Club Vacations. As we were leaving, we asked an employee if they would call the police if we refused to vacate. She laughed and said no, she would call the front desk. She was happy to hear how much we enjoyed our stay.
Left at 9:45 AM and drove about five miles down Highway 17 to our new “home” at Plantation Resort. We were a little confused as to where the registration office was. We drove all the way through the resort and never did find it. Discovered it’s out near the Highway. Once there, Ashley was very helpful and friendly and let us check in early. She gave us the information about all the activities at the resort and then directed us to get our “parking pass.” We told the man at the parking pass desk that we’ve already been to their presentation. He was sad to learn we didn’t want to join their family.
We got to our “home” around 10:00 AM. Got our Prius unloaded and everything put away quickly. We hadn’t eaten yet so we decided to get something. We had talked about going to Carrabba’s Restaurant (an Italian chain), but it wasn’t close so we opted for a pizza joint only a couple blocks away called Ultimate California Pizza. Excellent pizza and affordable prices. It looks like a gathering place for the local law enforcement.
As we were driving back to our home, we saw some garage sale signs and just had to go. Sure glad we have no room in the Prius because some of the cute things I saw would be fun.
Anyway, once back at our “home,” we just chilled and enjoyed. It’s very nice. Loft style with Lexi’s room upstairs. It’s open and might have the battle of the televisions, but a very nice place. We’ll be very happy and comfortable here for the week. Also, it has a full size washer and dryer. As we were relaxing, we saw some ducks swim by in the canal outside our balcony. The sun shines into the living room and is lovely on a chilly day (like today).
Lexi and Michael are going to go to the workout room (he’ll take pictures) while I get some space. They’re also going out for a drink afterwards to give me more time alone. Very thoughtful and nice.
This resort has many activities. They have yoga, water aerobics, bingo, food options ($10.00 pasta night), tie dye t-shirts, regular aerobics, basic training type boot camp conditioning – just a whole lot of stuff going on. Should be fun. Also, they don’t start up too early (usually around 8:00 AM is the earliest session, and the ones we like are around 10:00 AM).
That was our day. Hope yours was great!
