We are sure missing the warm weather of Florida and California. It’s COLD here – bone chilling cold and going to get colder as we head North. We’re from California and not used to this. Still, we’re looking forward to New York City. I’ve got tentative reservations at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Long Island City. The price dropped down another $100.00, but still am looking for something closer to Times Square and Broadway. I know it will cost more but with the cold and all, would like to be closer since we’ll be out late at the plays. Can’t believe how expensive everything is. Yuck.

Cold, cold, cold today. We ventured out and went to The Market Commons to go to the movies. We had some time to kill before the movie so we just walked around a little and went into Barnes and Noble. Ended up getting a new road atlas as our old one is dying a horrible death (being ripped apart little by little). We opted for a smaller version and are hopeful it will last longer.

Edie loves the eyelashes on the headlights. I have had to throw several fits to prevent her from getting them for the Prius.

We went back to the movie theater and went inside to get our popcorn before the movie – then on to see Jack Ryan; Shadow Recruit. I enjoyed it. Michael and Lexi weren’t too sure of the story line and how it will work with future Jack Ryan stories, especially “Threat Vector.”

After the movie we thought about going to Ross or Target again, but it was way too cold so we went home. I’m doing laundry and Michael is getting ready to make a salad. We need to eat some of the stuff up before we move tomorrow. We are hopeful, however, that the Plantation Resort will let us check in early, or at least let us put our stuff in the freezer while they get the room ready. We had called earlier in the week and were told they weren’t very busy and we could try to check in early. Sure gonna miss this beautiful “home.” They just might have to haul me out kicking and screaming. Hoping the Plantations Resort is as nice (or almost as nice) as this one.
