JANUARY 20, 2014 (Monday)

Didn’t sleep well last night. We think it was because the 49ers lost and we felt so bad. Anyway, just a game and a good one at that, but we lost. Bummer. I guess we’ll root for the Broncos at the Superbowl since we’re kinda mad at how some of the Seahawks were during and after the game.

We got up to sunshine. We got up early to go to the meet and greet. Wasn’t really much of anything as the room was so full we ended up in another room and didn’t hear anything they said. Was fun talking to people from the outer banks, near where we stayed in Kitty Hawk.

Walking to the meet and greet found the pool in the building next to ours.

I commented to Edie that I liked the jar on the mantle with sand in it.

Outdoor pool that has a channel that flows to the indoor heated pool. Looks like fun in the summer.

After that we came back to our “home” and finished up our book on tape (“The Perfect Hope). We’re wanting to get the tape back to Cracker Barrel soon and not pay for another week. We’re loving having the tapes for the long drive days, and love being able to go to Cracker Barrel and rent the book by the week. Works out great for us.

Once the book was finished it was time to get to work. Michael and I had been talking (and threatening) to do the hard stuff – the big budget, house, rentals, airbnb, utilities, cars, everything together. Money is always a stressful topic. It seems like we should have lots left over. Oh well. It’s only money and we’re having an adventure.

Once we were done with the depressing task of the budget, we went down to de-stress in the hot tub. It’s a huge hot tub. Looks like it would seat about fifty people comfortably. Was nice and warm. We went in while the sun was still shining so we wouldn’t freeze on the walk back to our “home.” Very nice and relaxing.

Not sure what we’ll make for dinner. We had a big chicken salad for lunch. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
