Movies in Daytona Beach, Florida 1/14/2014
JANUARY 14, 2014 (Tuesday)
Was really surprised when Lexi woke us up at around 9:00 AM. She was wanting to get going. Good to hear and see her so excited about something. She does love the races. We got up and had breakfast. After that we headed to the Daytona 500 tour. I had gotten a $5.00 discount for each of us for the All Access Pass tour from one of the booklets in our “home” lobby.
We got to the Daytona 500 office around 10:45 AM. We had the same young man that we had talked to after our blood giving the other day. He had told us before that today would be a good day to go on the tour because we would be able to get on the track. We had a few minutes before the tour so we decided to go into the store to look around. Very proud of their inventory as it is way expensive. It was in the store that we found out there was no track access today, that something was going on and it was closed.
I went back up to the young man and asked him about the track situation. He apologized and said he remembered talking to us. He said we were welcome to come back tomorrow and use the tickets we had purchased. He assured us that unless it rained really hard, we would be getting on the track. Lexi wanted to go on the tour tomorrow.
After we left we drove around awhile and then headed to the Ocean Walk Shoppes to go to the movies. Tuesdays are $5.00 for any movie all day. We parked across the street in a garage and walked on the skyway bridge. Fun going over the busy street. We got to the theater and we decided to see “Lone Survivor.” We ended up paying $6.00 because we were in the VIP theater with leather recliners Was worth the extra $1.00 as the chairs were very large and comfortable. Nice. Very good, very emotional, and very sad movie. Bring your Kleenex if you go. We also got our parking ticket validated to get the free four hours of parking.
After the movies we came back “home.” Michael took a long walk on the beach and Lexi and I chilled.
That was our day. Hope yours was great!
