Ocean Walk, Daytona Beach, Florida 1/7/2014
JANUARY 7, 2014 (Tuesday)
Big comfortable bed with soft sheets. Wonderful night’s sleep. Loving our vacation home.
Got up and had tea. We hadn’t brought any food over (yet). Michael said he would go over and to our “home” and have breakfast and bring some food back here. He left around 11:00 AM. I decided to use my time alone to take a long bath in the huge bathtub here.
Michael got back and we left to go to Publix and Dollar Tree. (It was cold outside with the wind blowing and making it feel colder.) I got a potato peeler to take with us as sometimes they aren’t available (or really in need of sharpening). Got it and then walked over to Publix. Michael is wanting more veggie options to keep his gout at bay. He challenged his gout last night with the little bit of chili from Wendy’s and it flared up a little. Sure don’t like him hurting. Anyway, he got some more veggies.
After we got back to our vacation home, we walked down to the movie theater. Tuesdays are $5.00 for any movie all day. Pretty good deal. Our son, Aaron, had told us how good “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” was, so we decided to go see that. It started at 2:20 PM. We had to go up an escalator to get to the movie, which was quite interesting. Lots of people were already seated. We did get a top seat, middle. We were later joined by some squirrel people (rustling of bags, talking, just in general annoying). They did calm down after about half an hour, thank goodness. The movie was very different. It was a fun, fanciful type movie. Not one of my favorites but it was fun.
We got home and Lexi made a delicious dinner of veggies and pasta. Really quite good. We might have to send her off to culinary school. She’s also doing laundry.
That was our day. Hope yours was great!
