JANUARY 5, 2014 (Sunday)

The bed was pretty comfortable.

We are on the third floor, pretty plain jane kind of a place.

We woke to sunny skies. Still a little bit colder than normal but not too bad. We got up and went to Famous Steve’s Diner for brunch. Lexi opted for a cheeseburger, I got a Spanish omelette, and Michael got pancakes. His gout has really been acting up so he’s avoiding all meat for a few days and hopes to break the cycle.

We'd not seen a Hummer like this, it is a H3T.

The paint job on this Harley is fantastic, probably costs more than the bike.

After breakfast we went over to Publix, but before we went food shopping we went into a Beall’s Store and got Lexi a scarf. We’re wanting to make sure we’re warm while we’re in New York with scarves and gloves. After we got the scarf, we walked over to Publix. While we were walking into the store, we saw the sign for flu shots available and decided to go ahead and get them. (Our son had said two healthy and young people had died recently due to what they believe was the flu.) We filled out the paperwork involved and were told to come back in a few minutes for the shots. We continued on with our shopping and then went back for the shots. We were told we might feel a little bit of the symptoms but to take Tylenol for discomfort.

We got home and are watching the 49er vs. Packers playing in the cold. So far the 49ers are ahead (a little) but not sure how this game will go. It’s a good game, close. We are feeling a little sore and achy from our shots already. I’m hoping we’ll be able to stay up for “Downton Abbey” tonight. Michael and I usually have a Sunday night date with PBS.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
