From Wyndam Ocean Walk to Silver Beach Club (Ouch) 1/4/2014

JANUARY 4, 2014 (Saturday)

I don’t want to leave. Don’t make me – PLEASE! OK, today is moving day and we had to leave this beautiful resort and go back to reality. We had heard from several people about how bad the Silver Beach Club Resort was. I kept saying (and hoping) it couldn’t be worse than Titusville (which was better than I was expecting but not a great quality resort). The day matched our mood for leaving, though – cold and grey.

Edie took the garbage out just before we left and she was fascinated with the "Trash Chute".

We delayed going to our new “home” by going out to lunch. Lexi put in a request for Mexican and said she had researched it and wanted to go to Peppers, along Atlantic Avenue to the north of Ocean Walk. We got there and noticed there were no cars in the parking lot.  We were hesitant to go in but Lexi was hungry so we said what the heck, we’ll go. We went inside and it was quite lovely. The table was huge and beautiful. The Server was prompt and efficient.  We ordered and the food arrived quickly and was excellent. Would highly recommend this place.

After eating lunch it was time to find out about our new “home”. We dragged it out as long as possible. We drove down Atlantic Road and into the parking lot.  When we went inside to register we saw that it is old and desperately needs updating. The young man behind the desk was nice and we got through the process quickly. They did have a really cool employee time clock. Michael was playing with it.  We got our keys and all the information and were told where to drive to park close to our new “home”.

Great time clock for the employees, it uses facial recognition. Plug in your code, put your face up there and you are logged in for work, or out.

As we drove around the corner, we observed about six people sitting around smoking. We weren’t sure if they were local homeless type people, or employees. We were hoping for employees but just could not tell. We got on the elevator (very slow) and went up to the third floor to our room. Once inside, it wasn’t horrible, but Lexi and our room is only divided by a sliding door. Like I said, it’s old and in need of updating. We want to go back to Ocean Walk!!!! Wish we were rich. This place looks clean enough, if you can get past the stains.

Looks like a nice pool. 8'10" at the deep end, I like that and am looking forward to a swim if we get a warm day.

Anyway, we’re here for two weeks. Not sure what we’re going to do the rest of the night, or what we’re going to do for dinner. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
