Vacation Villas, Titusville, Florida 12/23/2013

DECEMBER 23, 2013 (Monday)

Happy 24th birthday son. We love you!

We were up and out of the Super 8 by 9:00 AM. We are glad to be leaving. We’ve stayed in worse places, and it was a bed, but….we so prefer resort living. We were a little hesitant about going to Vacation Villas because of some of the reviews we had read (especially about the bed bugs), but at Christmas it was really hard to find anything. Vacation Villas was about the only thing available for the holidays. We’re talking about going back to Florida next winter and need to plan ahead for the holidays.

We got to Vacation Villas around 9:30 AM. The person at the check-in area was very nice and friendly. She said if we had called the emergency number, she would have come down to check us in. We had called the regular number. (Bad me as I had given Michael the number to call.) We asked about the bed bugs and she said everything was fine.  She said that there never were any, but they changed the mattress to be sure.  The poster about the bugs seemed very unhappy, even complained about getting a computer virus from their network.   The lady at the front desk gave us our paperwork and told us where our unit was.

We went to our new “home” and I was very surprised (pleasantly) because it is lovely. It’s older (not updated since the 70’s or so), but it’s clean and has everything we need. It’s a lovely “home” for the almost two weeks we’ll be here. It has a roomy screened in porch for eating. The furniture is comfortable and Lexi has her own room and bathroom. So much nicer than what I had going on in my mind. So glad. Also, they say in the paperwork that if you have food or things left, please don’t throw it away as they give it to charity. I love that as I hate to waste food just because we have to move.

Michael and Lexi ventured out to get groceries. We want to cook for our Christmas dinner so they got all that, plus other things for while we’re here. We’re trying to plan what we’re going to do while here. We’ve also been listening to and enjoying the book on tape.

Michael met our “neighbors.” They’re from Pennsylvania and are enjoying the weather here. What’s not to enjoy as it has been downright hot. Felt like it was in the mid to high 80’s today.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
