Wow. A year since our beloved Mamaw left us for heaven. Sure do miss her. Lexi is having a really hard day. She so loved her Mamaw. I would love to be like her but I can’t seem to be that nice. She was an amazing woman.

We woke up with the intention of going to Key West, or at least Miami. We ended up going to Pembroke Pines, Florida. In looking for the Post Office we discovered Markham Park, here in Weston. What a great park. It had everything, even a place to fly model airplanes. We stopped and parked and watched a guy fly a jet that went way up high and flew really fast. Quite remarkable. I would imagine they cost quite a lot. Pretty sure you wouldn’t want to crash it. Was fun watching. It’s a neat park and glad we went.

Gassed up at a Chevron. The pump had a little TV inside it. Mostly commercials, but a little weather. Kept me entertained, which was good cause it was a real slow pump.

We went to the Post Office to mail our Christmas cards, birthday cards, etc. That took quite awhile as the lines this time of year are awful. People were quite nice, however, and seemed more relaxed than in California. Next we were off to Walmart to get Michael’s medication refilled. That took awhile and while we waited we did some Christmas shopping and grocery shopping. By the time Michael filled his prescription, it was 4:00 PM and we were tired. We had been thinking since we weren’t going to make it to Key West, Miami, or other points South – we might go to a movie. We were both tired and hungry so we opted to go home and have dinner.

Michael had made the most delicious lasagna last night and we just knew it would be better today. We got to talking and realized we hadn’t had lasagna since Jan and Caron had made it for us on Vancouver Island last summer. (We are hoping to see Jan and Caron again soon in the Carolinas.) It was better than yesterday, and yesterday was so delicious. We added a glass of wine and some coleslaw for tonight’s meal.

So now our tummies are full and we’re sitting around thinking about Mamaw. We’re also trying to plan what we’re going to do tomorrow. We are still hopeful we’ll get to Key West. The weather today was supposed to be cold but it was in the 70’s and very pleasant.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
