Disney World-Epcot, Kissimmee, Florida 12/07/2013
DECEMBER 7, 2013 (Saturday)
Got up way early for a timeshare presentation. They only do the presentations at 8:00 AM. Yuck. The place sounded interesting and could be something new for us.
We arrived and registered. Waited a few minutes and were greeted by Alex. Alex is from New York and was so fun and nice to talk to. Loved hearing about his beloved grandmother’s sayings before she passed. Sounds like a very wise and lovely woman. Alex also introduced us to Lee, his boss. Lee is from the United Kingdom and has worked for this company for many years. The timeshare, Encantada, is associated with Club La Costa out of Europe. We were given breakfast and then we talked, laughed, shared, and finally toured a beautiful home. These are actually home like and quite lovely. Very high standards.
When we got back from the tour, it was time to talk numbers. Bottom line is we could get a 75,000 point package, every other year, with a bonus of another 100,000 for one year. This came with your own Ipad mini and they would pay the maintenance fee for the first year (2014 – around $800.00). They wanted around $12,000.00. We were so tempted. They are associated with Interval International and they showed us ways to work inside the system. Would love that, having the real time everything right there in front of you.
It was, disappointingly, a only today thing, which we hate. We said no and are now doing our research about it. Not much out there and would love to hear if anyone knows anything about it. Since we’re going to Europe doing this, might be beneficial for us to have. I think we would only do it if we could sell our Lake Tahoe timeshare.
After the presentation we drove to Disney World to the lost and found. Still don’t have my sunglasses. Bummer. Filled out a report of lost item and the man behind the counter said if they found anything similar, they would mail it to me at their cost. Nice to know.
We left Disney World (crying and saying goodbye) and headed to Burlington. When we bought our canvas rolling bag, the security tag was left on. We really didn’t realize it until we got it home. Michael took it back in and they removed the tag, after some hassle because I had removed the other tags.
We are now “home” and very tired. Going to take a nap. Not used to getting up so early. We’re retired, supposed to sleep in. Going to make a quiche type thing for dinner and try to use up all our groceries.
Michael and Lex went back to Disney World to use up the last of our tickets and fastpass cards. They did Soaring, Norway, Test Track and Spaceship Earth. They had a good time and reported the place being pretty full on a Saturday night.
That was our day. Hope yours was great!
