Happy Thanksgiving!

Woke up to sun and warm. Wonderful!

Woke up to a beautiful Thanksgiving day. Not too windy, not too cold, not too sunny, very nice.

Lazy morning. Around 1:00 PM, we piled into our Prius and just drove around. We were wanting to scope out Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. We are wanting to buy a new GPS because the one in the Prius is so old and frustrating at times. We’re hoping a newer, more updated one will help. Anyway, we found all three, along with some other fun things. We saw where people had been actually camping out in front of the Best Buy until it opens tonight at 6:00 PM. We also found an upside down place, I think it’s called Wonderworks, Planet Hollywood, and Boardwalk on the Beach.

The Hard Rock Cafe is outside Boardwalk on the Beach. This is an upside down house. It was closed buy I doubt we would go in to see the creativity.

Folks lined up, been camping for several days. Lex had it right, "Mom don't let them see you taking their picture, first of all, they are out here, you know they are crazy."

Biggest golf store we've ever seen.

Around 2:45 PM we went to the Hard Rock Cafe. It looks like a Egyptian pyramid with the lions guarding the entrance. Lovely. Once inside a guy with the highest Mohawk I’ve seen greeted us. He was fun and full of energy. We had reservations for 3:00 PM and were seated right away. The Hard Rock is fun in that you expect hard rock and weird food but it was a very traditional Thanksgiving feast – turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, green bean casserole, salad, rolls. All you can eat for around $15.00. When we were done eating, you have a dessert option of pumpkin pie or chocolate mousse. Everything was good and filling. Lots of people were there by the time we left.

Not like any Hard Rock Cafe that we have every seen before, much more like the Luxor, pure Egyptian inside.

Another greeter told us it takes him two hours to do his hair each day.

We were shocked at the number of empty tables for a $14.99 Thanksgiving buffet.

Nice decorations inside, and they did have some guitars on the wall and lots of framed gold records on display.

It was an excellent buffet, turkey, cornbread dressing and all the trimmings.

After dinner we headed to Walmart. They have a Garmin on sale for $69.00, but not until 8:00 PM. Normally it’s around $160.00. Michael will come back tonight and get it, if they have any. Afterwards we went “home” and lazed around. Around 7:00 PM, Michael left to go get the Garmin. He was home by 8:30 PM with it in hand. We’ll use it tomorrow when we leave for Slidell, Louisiana.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
