Seaglass Tower Resort, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 11/24/2013
NOVEMBER 24, 2013 (Sunday)
Woke up to sunshine and cold, but sunshine. It’s beautiful.
We left here at around 11:00 AM to get to the Westgate presentation at 11:30 AM. We were told it’s about a mile down the road. We got there, registered, and then waited. After a few minutes a young woman came to us and took us away from the group waiting. She told us we had already gone to a presentation and that we weren’t eligible. She then had us sign for our $20.00 back. We told her Maxie said it was okay when we told him we had been to one. He said as long as it wasn’t here in Myrtle Beach. She said no, so we left.
We drove around for a little while. Never been asked to leave a timeshare presentation before. We might be on their “no fly” list. Too funny.
We ended up having breakfast/lunch at a place near the Westgate resort. It was called Spring Garden. It’s another one of their breakfast places that closes up at around 1:00 PM. They had two parrots as you enter the foyer. The interior was old time and nice. Waitress was fun. Michael opted for pancakes, I got a mushroom and cheese omelette, and Lexi got a hamburger.
We left and drove around more. Went to the resort we’re going to be going to in February. It looks nice but a little further from the beach and all the activities here. Should be a nice change. We went to the Dollar Tree and then we went to the local Piggly Wiggly Supermarket. Things sure are different here. They have all sorts of Southern type foods (collard greens, succotash, etc.). They also had this huge square chunk of weird looking meat. Michael looked closer and it was pig stomach. Gross. But I guess some people like it cause it was there.
When we got “home,” and unloaded our things, we rested for awhile and then went for a walk on the boardwalk to another “Visitor Center.” The really nice guy, Jeff, told us he was an independent contractor and signed us up for a resort group called Grande Crowne. We’ll see. We get the 3 tickets to Pirates Voyage, two 3 day 2 night hotel vouchers, and a photo package. He says without strings but we’ll see. With this one you still have to hold the tour with $20.00, but you get it back. So it’s a better deal with a new resort.
We walked more along the boardwalk and ended up at Pier 14, which is right behind our resort. Was fun but so cold. Got really chilled and wanted to go inside and get warm.
Michael is now making dinner (potatoes and chili). That was our day. Hope yours was great!
