Sapphire Valley, North Carolina to Williamsburg, Virginia 11/08/2013
NOVEMBER 8, 2013 (Friday)
Moving day. We woke up around 7:30 AM to blue skies. Love moving when the weather is good. We were out the door by 8:30 AM. Had to go back to the check-in place and turn in the keys, then on the road. We stopped in Brevard at a Subway for breakfast.
We drove and drove. We stopped somewhere in Virginia (I think) for lunch at a Wendy’s, and then into Williamsburg. The drive was approximately 8 hours (almost 500 miles). We were mostly on the interstate, which is nice when you’re going so far. When we booked this, we were new at it and thought doing an 8 or 9 hours day was okay. From now on, no more than 6 if we can help it.
We got to the resort at around 5:00 PM. The check-in was quick and easy. We’re on the 4th floor and old town Williamsburg is basically a two block walk from us. Very convenient location. The resort is nice. Lexi has her own room and bathroom. It’s supposed to be a one bedroom but there’s a couch and TV in one room that is now hers. The only thing it doesn’t have is a washer and dryer, but they have laundry rooms on each floor that are free.
When we were checking in we were asked if we want to find out about the Bluegreen Resorts. We said sure. We’re going down tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM to check it out.
After we had unloaded the car (they have elevators and nice luggage carts), we headed out to find something to eat. We ended up at TGIFridays. Was good but way too much food.
We are now back at our home, stuffed and tired. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
