Silverleaf Holiday Hills – Branson, Missouri 10/19/2013

OCTOBER 19, 2013 (Saturday)

It rained last night and was cold but when we got up this morning, sunny and beautiful. The colors are really starting to explode. Also, we’re on the third floor and the view is incredible.

We found out yesterday that we don’t have internet in our “home.” We have to drive about ½ mile to the registration office/rec center to get on line. Not too bad but it’s so nice being in our pj’s working on the blog. They kinda frown on pj’s here in the guest lobby.  Guess I could try it though.

Today we got up and went down to “register” for the vacation presentation. It’s supposedly not a timeshare presentation. We got there and they were able to get us in today at 2:00 PM. This was at about 11:30 AM when we registered. We went down the street to Ruby Tuesday and had lunch. Prices were a little high but the food was good and tasted fresh. We all split some pasta and each had the salad bar lunch. Lexi also had a Long Island iced tea.

My Salad. And the three of us split a crusted chicken pasta thing that was really good that we ate before anyone thought to get a picture of the darn thing.

After lunch we went to Walmart to look for blouses for Lexi. When in Horseshoe Bend, her new pants bled into her blouses so….Gonna get her a couple new ones. When we were entering the store we were called over to the counter for tickets. We were talked into another timeshare presentation tomorrow at 12:30 PM. We will get three tickets to SIX for a 90 minutes presentation. Hopefully we’ll learn something new.

After Walmart (Lex found a t-shirt from the Walking Dead that said Don’t Git Bit) it we headed to the presentation but were a little early so we walked over to the little mall next door and looked around. Lots of crafts and fun old stuff.

At around 1:40 PM, we went to our presentation. The first guy to talk to us wasn’t sure what to make of us being on the road 52 weeks out of the year. He mostly laughed and shook his head. After that a man came out and talked and talked for about an hour. It sounded like a really good deal if you had an extra $10,000.00 to spend. The downside was you only got four condo weeks a year. We need 52 weeks a year. Wouldn’t work well for us.

Here we go again, we will listen for show tickets and food gift cards.

After the man talked, we were taken into another room. The man tried to talk us into buying the package but he let us out after a few minutes, knowing it wouldn’t work. All in all we liked the presentation. If it hadn’t been so darn expensive up front, and the fact you only get four weeks in condos, we might have considered it. Anyway, for the three show tickets to Jersey Nights and three $30.00 gift cards to Olive Garden/Red Lobster – it cost us $64.00. Lexi said she even liked hearing what was being offered, but knew it wasn’t for us.

We went grocery shopping after the presentation and got a few things. The store is basically right across the highway from our “home” so we drove back. Lexi and I took the groceries up while Michael waited in the car – claiming his knee was hurting. Michael and I are now at the Rec Center doing the blog. Very busy place here but at least there’s internet.

Lexi is back at our “home” and going to make dinner for us. That is our day. Hope yours was good.
