Crown Point Resort – Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas 10/15/2013
OCTOBER 15, 2013 (Tuesday)
Happy birthday Uncle Claude!
Not sure how this works, Edie is on vacation and has taken a day off from her vacation. She told me she is not writing the blog today and is taking a day off. So, we woke up to rain. Rain like we haven’t seen in a long time.
We lazed around this morning and after it slowed down on the rain, Lex and i went and worked out at the Recreation Center.
After the workout we went into town to the grocery store and got some chips. Then we went to the Dollar General and found a chess set for cheap.
After that we drove through a subdivision for 55 and older only. Lex offered to run screaming and yelling to remind everyone why they wanted to be there. I declined the thoughtful offer.
Then we drove around Crown Lake. It was an interesting drive. There is a huge subdivision that is largely empty. Just a lonely house here and there but lots and lots of “lot for sale” signs. At the water’s edge, lots of homes, many grand, some modest.
Edie made a great dinner – chicken with salad. It was excellent. She did some laundry and the dishes. After dinner Lex and I played a game of chess and she learned what a knight fork was all about. Then we went to the country western show.
That was our day, hope you had a great one.
