Fort Smith, Arkansas 10/09/2013

OCTOBER 9, 2013 (Wednesday)

We had made arrangements yesterday at the Days Inn in Fort Smith, Arkansas for last night. It was a nicer one than in Clinton, Oklahoma. It’s right on the main drag and looks like a lovely little park nearby with a fountain. The river is close.

We slept well, even though Lexi has been keeping us up watching “The Walking Dead.” We got up around 9:30 AM and left the room around 10:30 AM. Lexi wasn’t feeling well and wanted something to eat before she took some aspirin. We ended up at a Sonic and each got a little something to eat.

We got to Uncle Claude’s and Aunt Gail’s around 11:00 AM. Uncle Claude had just finished up making some apple dew’s for dessert later. He’s made them for us before and they are delicious. Made with Mountain Dew.

After a little bit of visiting, we went into Fort Smith and had lunch at Cheddar’s. It’s a restaurant chain but a high level one with really good food and drinks. We each had something different and Aunt Gail shared her dessert with us. It was all yummy.

After lunch we went to A to Z and looked around. It’s a huge warehouse of things that have been deeply discounted. Fun to look around and see everything they have. They have warehouses for clothes, furniture, tools, purses, and gifts.
