Albuquerque, New Mexico to Clinton, Oklahoma 10/07/2013

OCTOBER 7, 2013 (Monday)

It was such a grungy place last night, we didn’t want to have breakfast there, even though it was “included.” We decided to just go down the road and eat when we gassed up. Both Michael and I went outside to see if we could see the balloons before we left, but no luck. Bummer. I bet it’s beautiful and would love to see it one day.

We drove about 450 miles today from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Clinton, Oklahoma.

We drove and drove until we needed gas and got hungry. We stopped in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Not much there. The place we stopped at for food was in Santa Rosa. It was called Joseph’s. If you’re ever in Santa Rosa, avoid Joseph’s. Not really good. The only nice thing was it was on Route 66, which is fun.

Went through the panhandle of Texas and saw the stations of the cross. Nice.

Hey, relatives!

At last, across the border. The road is getting long and I am ready to be where we are going.

Micro, fridge, tv, all the usual things, can't wait for the next resort.

We got into Clinton, Oklahoma at around 5:30 PM. The hotel is okay, it’s a Day’s Inn. Lots of young men here. We had dinner in the restaurant here at the hotel. Was okay. Should have gone to Braum’s. We love Braum’s. They didn’t have a lot of choices at the restaurant here.

We are so looking forward to getting to a new “home” for a week and being off the road.  That was our day. We’re tired. Hope your day was good.
