Idaho Falls, Idaho to Price, Utah 10/5/2013

OCTOBER 5, 2013 (Saturday)

Happy happy birthday to Marilyn & Carolyn! Wishing you many more!

Michael got up early and went out to get us breakfast. At this hotel they give you a relatively nice hot breakfast. Michael brought us back tea, muffin, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and bacon. It was all pretty good.

We left around 10:00 AM. We were tired as it was such a long day yesterday. We decided to see the falls in Idaho Falls. We were told by Famous Mike at Famous Daves BBQ last night that they had man-made waterfalls really close down Broadway. We drove down Broadway and were quite surprised at how lovely the falls were, and how long they were. Quite beautiful. Glad we took the time to investigate.

Idaho Falls has a wonderfully developed river area. A lateral dam creates about a half mile of falls, just beautiful.

Then it was all about the drive. We are driving to Price, Utah today, about 330 miles from Idaho Falls, a shorter day. We had found a place online last night. Cost us around $85.00 for the night at a Super 8 – yuck – but at least we have a bed for the night. The weather is continuing to cooperate and has been beautiful. The colors are spectacular on the hills.

We stopped in Brigham City for gas and lunch. We had Sonic for lunch. The choices that we saw were Sonic, DQ, or Subway. Lexi chose Sonic. She got some kind of burger, as did Michael, and I got popcorn chicken.

We got into Price, Utah at around 4:00 PM. The checkin was quick and easy. They have a one washer, one dryer laundry area ($1.50 each) so we are doing our laundry. Michael and I are considering going swimming in their indoor pool. It looks decent.
