Vacation Internationale – Ketchum, Idaho 9/20/2013
SEPTEMBER 20, 2013 (Friday)
Got up and just was lazy for awhile. When we did get moving, it was just Michael and I. We went to the Tamarack Lodge and did the blog. When we were done, we said goodbye to Tara. She said she would keep up with us on the blog. Hope she does. What a sweetie she is.
We drove back to our home and picked up Lexi. We drove to the Sun Valley Gun Club and took pictures of the sign.
Then we drove down the road to the Sun Valley Lodge. We were told yesterday by Brook Trout that they had pictures in the hallway of famous people. What a lovely lodge, in front was a waterfall pond with ducks, swans, and many flowers. There was also a Tesla sign with a beautiful black Tesla. Catering to the ultra wealthy. Inside, along the walls in the hallway, were many pictures of famous people such as Lucille Ball, Peggy Fleming, Cary Grant, Ernest Hemingway, lots of Kennedys, Arnold. Didn’t see anything very current, however.
The Sun Valley Harvest Festival is going on, starting off big today. There are many more people in town than we have seen. Fun.
We drove down into town and went to Atkinson’s Market to get a bottle of wine. We told ourselves it was just for the cork, but it’s really because we just like the wine.
We were hungry and went on a quest to find some food. It was about 3:00 PM. We decided it was our last night so we’d splurge. We tried going to the Bigwood Bread Cafe, but it was closed, The Ketchum Grill was closed, the Pioneer Cafe was closed, everything was closed until dinner time, around 4:00 or 5:00 PM. We covered much of the town.
We finally found The Burger Grill. Michael had a turkey/avocado sandwich, Lexi had a hamburger, and I had carne asada tacos. All were excellent. I also had a glass of wine and Lexi had a beer. All this food for $35.00.
Lexi and Michael are now swimming. I am getting some space in my pj’s.
Tonight it’s all about packing and getting ready to leave in the morning. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
