Wilsonville, Oregon 9/11/2013

SEPTEMBER 11, 2013 (Wednesday)

Remembering twelve years ago. (As we drove to Brad and Ellen’s house in Wilsonville, there was a horse rider with a large flag near the side of the highway, in remembrance. Was nice.)

Slept in. Michael and I were both surprised as we’ve been waking up a little earlier than we had been. It’s been so warm here. Not like the Oregon weather we’ve known for years. It’s supposed to be up in the mid 90’s today and then a little cooler tomorrow.

Did some laundry, confirmed some reservations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, read on the computer. Around 11:30 AM, we headed up to Wilsonville to see Brad, Ellen and Lexi. Lexi has been staying at her Aunt Ellen and Uncle Brad’s house. That’s always where she likes to stay when she’s in the area. The added bonus is that they have a new puppy, a dachshund named Harvey. He’s really cute but so full of energy.

When we got to Brad and Ellen’s, she was in the process of making lunch – corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and cornbread. We visited for about an hour before we ate. Boy was it good. Then we waddled away from the table and visited longer. I know Brad and Ellen were tired so we finally left around 5 PM. Sure was good seeing them again. They seem to be doing good.

We’re now back at brother John’s house and trying to keep cool. That was our day. Hope yours was great!
