Worldmark Marina Dunes – Marina, California 9/02/2013

SEPTEMBER 2, 2013 (Monday)

Worked on the studio until the afternoon. Around 3 PM, Michael and I left for the Worldmark Marina Dunes. I’ve wanted to go see it for years but was told it’s almost impossible to get into. Well, they had a one day opening and we used our new Worldmark account, bonus time, to get it. Am excited.

We got to the Marina Dunes Worldmark and checked in, even though the unit wasn’t ready yet. Douglas, the person at the front desk, pre-registered us and said he would call when the unit was ready. Michael and I left and went down the street to the Walmart to do some shopping for the studio. Douglas called us a little after 4 PM and said it was ready. We went back to the Worldmark and got our key and car pass.

We got to the unit and it is lovely. It’s a two bedroom with a Murphy bed so it can sleep 6 easily. It’s clean, big, and beautiful. It overlooks the pool and hot tubs. The pool is very large and the hot tubs are quite big too. It doesn’t have an ocean view but you know the ocean is very close.

We walked just a bit to Kula’s Restaurant and had dinner. We opted for the bar menu as the drinks were cheaper, and some of the meals were on special. Dinner still managed to cost us $60.00 but we got two drinks each, entrees, and a dessert so that’s not too bad. The food was good, not great, but good. We managed to eat most of it.  We had two drinks because we weren’t driving and they were only $3 or $4 each.  We splurged.

While walking back to our unit I ran into one of the housekeepers and asked about getting some shampoo to our room. She said that this Worldmark no longer gives out shampoo. I thought that was very strange but…Glad I washed my hair today so I don’t really need it. There are many bars of soap but no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion.

We are waiting on our daughter and her friend to come swimming and bring our suits.
